Our Origin Story

The fandom of Maloi Ricalde began on September 15, 2020, when fans first started forming a small but dedicated community around her. In the early days, supporters experimented with different names such as “Maloi-yals,” while Maloi was affectionately called “Maloves.” Another name that circulated within the community was “FaMaloi.” The inspiration for the fandom’s final name came from Maloi’s family. Her mother, Tita Maggie, has a quirky tradition of giving her daughters nicknames inspired by noodle brands. For Maloi, that nickname was “Lucky.”

On March 27, 2021, Maloi officially chose “Luckies” as the fandom name turning her childhood nickname into the identity of her fan community.
